Factors Affecting Customer Intention to Adopt a Mobile Chronic Disease Management Service

The Mobile Chronic Disease Management Service (MCDMS) is an emerging medical service for chronic disease prevention and treatment, but limited attention has been paid to the factors that affect users’ intention adopt service. Based on unified theory of acceptance use technology 2 protection motivation theory, authors built MCDMS adoption model. also verified differentiating age effect from experiential distance perspective construal level theory. Empirical results showed young group focused more impact effort expectancy, whereas elderly performance imitating others, perceived severity. Furthermore, group, however, vulnerability, offline habits no significant influence either group’s adopt, which were not consistent with original hypotheses. findings can aid providers in selecting marketing strategies targeted toward different groups.
